Returning Officer in charge of Embakasi East polling location Daniel Musyoka has gone missing while at work, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chairman Wafula Chebukati announced.
Chebukati said Musyoka went missing after he excused himself and walked outside to answer his phone, but he never returned.
“Reports received by the commission indicate that at around 9.00 am on 11th August 2022, his bodyguard escorted him from his house to the East African School of Aviation tallying centre. At around 9.45 am, Mr. Musyoka excused himself to receive a telephone call, but he did not return,” Chebukati said in his statement.
Chebukati said the commission and family have tried to reach Musyoka without much success.
Firebrand Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, who just won re-election, has not commented on the story.
